As President of the European Network of Policewomen and member of the police force of Barcelona, I would like to express my gratitude for the messages of solidarity and support we have received from Europe and other parts of the world.
Our thoughts are now, with the most recent victims of terrorist violence, their families and friends.
We share the feelings of our male and female colleagues in police forces around the world who have also experienced the shock and horror of this type of violence.
As members of the community police, we have been close to the people who offered their help to the victims or cried with them in the street, and also to the people who took to the street the next day to shout in Catalan “I am not afraid”.
